Edward Burne-Jones

British nineteenth-century painter, linked to the Pre-Raphaelite movement and to Symbolist aesthetics. He stood out for his compositions on mythological and literary themes, dreamlike in character and carefully decorative in execution, which also extended to stained-glass design and applied arts together with William Morris.
