What the museum label doesn't tell you
The context and title of this work coincide with those of an earlier painting by Rubens (c. 1611–1612), of very different composition, showing Ganymede's arrival at Olympus with Hebe handing him his cup; that early version is not the one held at the Prado, so the year 1612 given in the archive corresponds to a different painting and not to this work.
