For now, just to look at
The photograph we have of this work is not sharp enough to print at the quality we want, so we are not selling it for now. We are looking for a better one.

What the museum label doesn't tell you
Notice where the painter actually places the protagonist: not the village, not the two figures hauling firewood, but that mass of oak sitting dead center like a stage curtain. Everything human gets pushed to the margins, half swallowed by branches, dissolved in golden light. This is the formula of 17th-century Dutch woodland landscape: nature isn't backdrop, it decides what gets seen and what stays hidden. The sky, thick with clouds heavier than any rooftop, seals the hierarchy. The village only survives there by the tree's permission.
