Stanislas Lépine
French painter of the nineteenth century, a pupil of Corot and associated with the landscape painting that preceded Impressionism. He is remembered for his views of the Seine and the bridges of Paris, executed with soft light and a restrained palette that anticipate the sensibility of the Impressionist painters.
