Sassetta
Italian painter of the fifteenth century, the leading representative of the Sienese school of his generation. He is remembered for combining the Gothic tradition with new Renaissance spatial solutions, in religious works of delicate colouring and narrative composition, intended chiefly for altarpieces in Tuscan churches.
