Moretto da Brescia
Italian Renaissance painter, active in Brescia during the sixteenth century. He developed a style combining the Venetian influence of colour with a naturalism characteristic of Lombard painting, applied to both religious subjects and portraits. He is remembered for his sober treatment of light and the elegance of his figures.
