Mary Cassatt

American painter active mainly in France between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, the only artist of her nationality fully integrated into the Parisian Impressionist circle. She is remembered for her intimate scenes of motherhood and women's domestic life, treated with compositions influenced by Japanese printmaking.
