Juan Gris

Spanish painter active mainly in France during the early decades of the twentieth century. A central figure of Cubism alongside Picasso and Braque, he developed his own variant of the movement characterised by geometric clarity and the use of colour. He is remembered for his still lifes and compositions featuring everyday objects and musical instruments.
