Jean-Louis Forain

French painter and printmaker active between the 19th and 20th centuries, initially linked to Impressionism and close to Degas. He was also a renowned press caricaturist, and his painting reflects that critical eye towards Parisian society, the courts and everyday life. He is remembered for his agile line and his biting vision of the customs of his time.
