Jacob Hart Lazarus
American painter of the nineteenth century, a pupil of Henry Inman, specialising in portraits. He worked mainly in New York. He is remembered for his portraits of society figures of his time, executed with the careful technique typical of the nineteenth-century American portrait tradition.
