Henri Rousseau

Henri Rousseau was a French painter of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, self-taught and a central figure of so-called naïve art. He is remembered for his scenes of lush jungles populated with exotic animals, painted with meticulous technique and a personal style removed from the academic conventions of his time.
