Carlo Saraceni

Italian painter of Venetian origin active in Rome during the first third of the seventeenth century. Linked to Caravaggism, he combined Caravaggio's naturalistic treatment of light with a more delicate palette of Venetian roots, and worked on both religious and mythological subjects.
