Berthe Morisot
French painter of the nineteenth century, a central figure of Impressionism and one of its founders. She took part in almost all the group's exhibitions and focused her work on domestic and intimate scenes, as well as portraits of women and children, with loose, luminous brushstrokes. She was Édouard Manet's sister-in-law.
