Bartolomeo Vivarini

Italian painter of the fifteenth century, a member of the Vivarini family and a leading representative of the Venetian school, alongside his brother Antonio. He is remembered for his religious altarpieces in a late Gothic style with Renaissance influences, characterised by the use of gilded backgrounds and precise linear drawing.
